QB Ryan Tannehill did not have the first game everyone expected of him. He made a few mistakes including 2 passes that should have been intercepted, threw a completion for minus 7 yards on first and goal from the 3 instead of just throwing it away and twice misfired an open WR that could have resulted in scores (Sims and Stills). He did have a few good plays as well of course. He fininshed 22 of 34 for 226 yards and his first 2015 TD to Rishard Matthews. C-
RB Lamar Miller almost did not not touch the ball in the first half. They did give him some carries in the second half and made the most out of them (including a 17 and 12 yard back to back runs). He finished with 13 carries for 53 yards. The Dolphins again could not convert a 4th and 1. C
WR Landry saved the day for Miami and Jordan Cameron also played very well in his first game a s a Dolphin. The team lost Sims to injury which looked serious. Jennings was quite with 3 receptions and Matthews added 4 receptions and a drop and a TD. Stills had only 1 catch and Parker was active but did not have a ball thrown his way. C
OL The Dolphins O-line was OK. They gave up some sacks but in general played an avergae game. The pass blocking looked average and the run blocking which was nono exsistent in the first half looked better in the second. C
LB The Dolphins really need to tackle. Sheppard was replaced by Zach Vigil and the entire unit looked average at best. This will not look good come the Bills in two weeks. C
DL With all the hoopla of the great D-line the Dolphins could not stop the run. The first half was a mess as Morris rushed for 82 yards in the first half alone. The Redskins ran for 161 yards! The pass rush wasn't any better - 1 sack... D-
Secondary Two great INTs but the rest... Thank god it wasn't Tom Brady on the other side. The Redskins didn't want to pass but when they did the secondary did an avergae job. D+
Special teams Thank god for Lamike Jammes' fumble that made the coaches go with Landry and Thank god for him. Jarvis Landry won the game for the Dolphins on that 69 punt return for a TD. That simple. The rookie punter looks like he belongs. A+
Coaching The Dolphins got lucky, that's all. I did not like the play calling or the execution and some of the decisions but at the end they found a way to win. This may be enough to get by the Jaguars but it will certainly not be enough to get by the Bills in 2 weeks. C
