QB Ryan Tannehill played an excellent smart game. His WRs didn't help him much but he managed the game and played good enough to win. He threw for 2 TDs (his first multiple passing TDs game) without any turnovers going 21 of 29 for 185 yards. Excellent. He is playing better every game. A-
RB Reggie Bush had 17 yards on 12 rushes.. ouch. Daniel Thomas was missed as the Dolphins couldn't convert 3rd and ones all day. He went sideways too much, the blocking didn't help but it still looked that the injured Thomas was more suited for some of the runs. D
WR Somehow Hartline did not catch a pass and Miami's leading receiver was... Marlone Moore. Moore had 3 catches for 46 yards including a 29 yard TD. Bess dropped a pass - that's how bad it was. D
OL An average game. They weren't very good in the running game and they had too many penalties. Tannehill was sacked twice (one blind side fumble) and he got hit a lot, icluding on his 29 yard TD. C
LB They played well. They gave up a ton of yards but made some nice plays, especially Dansby who led the team again with 8 tackles and an assist. B-
DL The D-line played mostly well and managed to get to Bradford 3 times and should have had number 4 but a controversial call took one Wake sack away. Vernon had 2 sacks to go along with Wake's one but the run defense was just awful. 162 yards to the Rams ? really ? C+
Secondary 315 yards to Bradford ? throwing to rookies and no names ? they gave up a 65 yard pass to someone named Givens ? They did not break but still 315 to Bradford is not good. C-
Special teams Clemons deserves an A all by himself for his fake punt conversion in a critical situation when the Rams actaully protected against the fake punt. Carpenter actually did not miss today and made his only FG try from 42 yards. Fields had some brilliant punts, the special teams recovered a fumble by the Rams special teams and Thygpen also returned a kickoff for 44 yards which resulted in a short field to led to a TD drive. A very good game. A
Coaching Wow, that fake punt call was risky and great. Great play calling all game. I felt the officials made some mistakes that went against Miami on potential Rams turovers and a few spots of the ball. I really was against hiring Jeff Fisher. I wasn't impressed with his track record. I'm glad we ended up with Philbin. Fisher ? his so called well coached team had 12 penalties for almost a hundred yards... A-
