QB Pennington managed the game well and took a chance on the first TD, he let Martin make the play and he did. He finished 12 of 19 for 156 yards, 2 TDs and no INTs. B
RB Ronnie had a great game and he took over the game on the Phins last drive moving the ball well into Niners territory, e finished with 10 carries for 67 yards. Ricky wasn't as goos today going 7 for 23 yards. C+
WR Martin's TD was amazing, a great catch and then he ran the remaining 20-30yards for the 61 yard score. Martin could always catch like a WR. Haynos caught his first career recpetion for a 19 yard TD when the entire Niner defense went over to cover Martin after the TD... Bess only had 3 catches and Ginn only had 2. C
OL The pass protection held its own. The run blocking was OK but the Dolphins just did not have enough plays... 42 plays the entire game compared to the Niners' 79. C+
LB Roth had a great game including a sack. Porter was kept in check for the entire game until the final play when he got sack number 17.5 for the season. He is now only 1 sack shy of the franchise record shared by Bill Stanfill and Jason Taylor. He went into the game leading the NFL by half a sack (Demarcus Ware). Anderson also collected a sack. B+
DL The D-Line is having problems rushing the passer. Of Miami's 5 sacks none came from the D-linemen. Langford played another good game, he is surely over the rookie wall. B
Secondary Shaun Hill looked better than he should but it was mainly dink and dunk passes. He finished 30 off 46 for 233 yards. No TDs given up by the defense. B+
Special teams Carpenter missed from 48 by about 5 inches. The coverage teams were OK and so were the return game, especially the punt return team headed by Davone Bess. C-
Coaching They are 9-5 - NINE AND FIVE, a year after going 1-15. What can you say - The zero mistakes philosophy wins football games. The team still has 10 turnovers in 14 games. The NFL season record is 14 so Miami is well within record pace. The team did not play well but they won anyway, that's a good sign although I'm afraid it won't be enough for next Sunday as they play in frigid Kansas City... Can they really win game number 10 next week ,TEN ? A-
