QB Tannehill was almost perfect. He threw the ball great. Had a beautiful 34 yard TD to Stills in the back of the endzone and led the team from behind to secure the victory. He finished with 17 of 23 for 289 yards and 3 TDs with no picks for a near perfect rating of 155. Yes - it does make a difference having your starting QB back... A+
RB Awful game running the ball. The Raiders were detemined not to let Miami gaain anything on the ground. The RBs ran 11 times for 15 yards. Tannehill ran 3 times for 26. D
WR One of the reasons the national media is down on Miami is because they think the loss of Jarvis makes this team worse. On the contrary, this year's receiving unit is MUCH better than last year. The speed is just amazing. Stills, Wilson and Grant are rockets. They can do anything. Wilson threw a 52 yard TD and "caught" (it was more of a run) a 74 yard TD. Grant caught the 52 yard TD AND "caught" (again a run...) an 18 yard score. Stills actaully caught a 34 yard perfect pass for a score. They are playing as a unit. A+
OL The run blocking was awful. Nowhere to go. The pass blocking was excellent. They gave Ryan time and when Ryan has time he almost always connects. B-
LB Kiko Alonso had 15 tackles - really. The defense gave up alot of yards in the middle of the field and could not stop the run. They stepped up when it mattered the most in the 4th quarter to preserve the win. B-
DL What a game, Spence was ejected, Branch AND Hayed left with injuries and the Dolphins were left with only 6 linemen. The run defense was awful but they came through at the end to preserve the win. Wake had his first sack of the year. B-
Secondary Nelson had more than 150 yards by halftime- that's not good (he finished with 173 yards on 6 catches). They missed tackles and had breakdown in coverage. They really deserve a C playing without Reshard Jones but they have a special player in Xavien Howard that somehow always saves the day for Miami with huge plays. He had 2 INTs and the second one in the endzone pretty much gave Miami the edge in the 4th. He deserves an A+ all by himself. So, because of Howard, the C- becomes a ... B+
Special teams Matt Haack had one bad punt, the rest were great as usual. The special teams were quiet most of the day. C+
Coaching They looked BAD in the first half but managed to stay in the game. The second half was different. The trick play call and the play in general in the 4th was brilliant. The Dolphins really hit home runs in some of their offseason additions - Wilson and Quinn. A
