QB Pennington started awful - 1 of 6 for -1 yards but played better as the game came along, he has trouble throwing deep but he had no time to throw and no WR to throw to... he finished 26 of 43 for 251 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT.C+
RB It was supposed to be the team's strength but Ricky nad Ronnie had 16 carries for 47 yards - COMBINED. The run blocking, if you can call it that, didn't help either and that's a gross understatement. C-
WR Ginn had 2 catches for 17 yards, Camarillo 3 for 37 and Derek Hagan had - drim roll please - ZERO catches. They are just not a very good group. Wilford was inactive, Actually the most experienced of the top 4 WRs was Ted Ginn.... The WRs should get an F but TE Anthony Fasano (8 for 84, TD) and TE Martin (4 for 53, TD) make it better. D+
OL The run-blocking bad. The pass blocking was bad as well. So much for the one penalty in his entire college career for Long, he had two in his first pro game negating two first downs - that's roughly 15 million guarantee dollars per penalty. F
LB Joey Porter was OK, so was Roth, both had sacks. Ayodele and Crowder had a decent game although the defense made Thomas Jones look like Eric Dickerson gaining over 100 yuards on 22 carries. C
DL Again the run blocking was horrible. Awful. Bad. 22 carries for 101 yards for Thomas Jones ? Thomas Jones ? How many of you forgot who the Jetsw runner was up until kickoff ? it's OK, nobody this side of NY should know who Thomas Jones is. D+
Secondary Will Allen is in a class by himself, he is just very good, too bad for him he's playing here. The problem is he can't cover two WRs on both sides of the field on the same play. The opposing QBs should just stay away from him and throw it to the WR opposite him because Goodman and company are a grand Canyon away from Allen in terms of coverage skills. That hail mary pass-TD has no wxcuse in my book. C
Special teams Let's see - a 9 (that's N-I-N-E) yard punt by Fields, a kickoff going out of bounds, Ginn not returning kicks and punts (it's not like they were saving him for that brilliant 2 catch performance...). So much for the improved special teams play... C-
Coaching Why, god why, is Cobbs the third down back instead of Ronnie "best receiver on the team" Brown (and that's not that big of a deal with our WRs) ? why is 6 '4' Wilford inactive for a guy named London (wasn't London so last season) ? And why we have two tries from the 2 and we pass both times to "giants" Ted 5'11 Ginn and undrafted rookie Bess which is like 5'9 ? (playing in his first career game) D
