QBRyan Tannehill was just brilliant. No other way to put it. He is playing excellent football the last few weeks but this game was just amazing. His stat line was 25 for 37 (68%) for 312 yards with 3 TDs and 0 INTs... That's a rating of over 120. He led the team from behind for the winnig score and outplayed Tom Brady (and Brady played very well as usual). A+
RB Lamar Miller was OK for most of the day running 15 times for 61 yards. Thomas ran 5 times for 16 yards but also caught a 2 yard TD. Thigpen had 2 receptions for 23 yards including the game winner 14 yard TD. The problem with the unit is the blocking in the blitz pick up. They are still letting the defensive blitzers ger to Tannehill. B-
WR A great game for Wallace (6 for 105 and a TD) and Hartline also had a good day (5 for 70) and so did Matthwes (5 for 64). The Pats decided to concetrate on Clay. They managed to stop him but Wallace, Hartline and Matthews picked up his receptions. Clay did get a 6 yard recpetion on 4th and 5 that saved the game, all six yards came after the catch. A-
OL They gave up 4 sacks but some were on the backs. The running game was OK as it should against the 31st ranked run D. When Tannehill has time he is very good. C+
LB The Dolphins LBs were quiet and played OK although Brady did manage to find space down the middle and the run defense could have been better. That being said, Brady scored 20 points, I'll taske thta any day. B
DL The D-line could not get to Brady on a consistent basis. Wake had the only sack of the day and had a few hits on Brady as well. Vernon was very quiet and often double teamed. Soliai was lost for the game early on. Again at the end 20 points to Brady is very soild. B
Secondary Who the hell is Michael Thomas - that's what most of us said during the game. How can we really depend on a practice squad player - and it's not even our practice squad. Thomas made two great plays to seal the game for the Dolphins. Taylor was ijnured and inactive, so the Dolphins went into the game with Carool and Grimes with only Will Davis to back them up. Both Caroll and Grimes were injured and Davis played with Wilson n a ptachwork secondary. The Dolphins were playing Tom Brady with a practice squad safety, with the team a few days and a safety and their 6th CB playing corner - and WON... A-
Special teams Just an awful day that almost cost Miami the game. Fields did not see the snap and the botched FG cost the team 3 points and Trusnik was called for holding on a kickoff return giving Miami the ball at the 6 instead of the 30. They did down a punt at the New England 2 yards line. D+
Coaching Just a great gutsy game. The Dolphins were down by 3 witht the clock ticking and a 4th and 5 at their own 45. Conventional wisdom said punt but Philbin knew the situation with his secondary and went for it. It wasn't a very good play but Clay somehow made the first down and the Dolphins scored the game winning TD on that drive. The TD to Thomas was just a great call and son was the Thigpen TD. The Dolphins played a great game against a top 4-5 NFL team when it mattered the most. A
