QB Chad Henne played very well. He had some great great throws, very accurate. He finished with a career high 416 yards on 30 of 49 with 2 TDs and one garbage time hail mary INT. He also did that while under constant pressure. He scored a rushing TD as well and was one of the team's best players. He rushed for 59 (!) yards on 7 attempts including the TD. A great start in a loss. A
RB The Dolphins could not run the ball. Thomas was injured and did not play and Bush does not look like a between the tackles kind of a runner. 11 rushes for 38 yards is just not enough to win in the NFL, certainly not against the Pats. Bush did show he is an excellent WR (9 for 56 and a TD). I think they should have played Larry Johnson. It couldn't hurt. C-
WR Brandon Marshall again looked like the top 5 WR that he is. He made a brilliant great catch on the first play and never stopped running over people. He had 7 catches for 139 yards. Bess also caught 5 balls for 92 yards. Fasano (5 for 82) made a highlight type catch to the Pats 2 yard line A-
OL Chad Henne was pressured all day abd there was nowhere to run up the middle of the Pats defense. The middle was a big problem. D+
LB The Pats two TE caught 13 balls for... 189 yards and 2 TDs. No pressure as well. absolutely no pressure. Wake was dominated by a rookie LT playing RT in his first career game and you didn't hear Misi's or Taylor's name all day. F
DL The entire Dolphins defense played a bad game. Danny Woodhead had 69 yards on 14 carries (a 5 yard average). Again Zero pressure on Brady, I mean ZERO, at times he could have sat down and relaxed for a few seconds with the time his OL gave him. D-
Secondary Tom Brady passed for 517 yards, that's F-I-V-E H-U-N-D-R-E-D and S-E-V-E-N-T-E-E-N yards, 5th best in NFL history including an all time record 99 yard TD (1 of 4 TDs Brady had). This was by far the weakest link and was the most yards given up by Miami via the pass ever (and some of you remember the awful 80s team when Ken O'Brien torched MIami for the previous recrd 479 yards in the game the D was so bad it made Dan Marino lose a agme in which he threw for SIX TDs). It was that bad. Reshard Jones picked the wrong game to assume his starting position. F-!!!
Special teams Both Dolphin kickers are solid. Gates looked very speedy and I woudn't be surprised if he eventually breaks one. B
Coaching The play calling was very agressive (although I just don't understand why throw a 20 yard sideline pass on 3rd and 4....). Henne lokked prepared but the Defense was awful. Top 5 ?? they looked like a team that is not top 25 in college. 517 yards passing ? giving up over 600 yards - SIX HUNDRED! D+
