The Dolphins are officialy in a collapse. There was no storm to blame. The Dolphins' offense just couldn't get in the endzone. Their offense looked anemic, Fiedler was just bad. He's obvious not the QB
for a come from behind win. In that aspect of the game, Huard is much better. At the end of the game with almost 3 minutes to go and 65 yards from the endzone, Fiedler tried to go for 10-20 yards. It's just no the way to go. He had tons of times he should have gone for short passes
of 6-9 yards and move the chains. After you are close then try to do something. Fiedler tried to force the ball to Gadsden and the game was history.
The Dolphins got all the luck in the world. Both the Jets and the Raiders lost. With a win Miami would have clinched the division and move to the second seed in the playoff
race, a seed that grants a first week bye. Miami can still win the division with a win, but really does it matter ? If Miami continues to play like that a first week exit is likely.
QB - Fiedler completed less than 50% of his passes with one costly INT thrown because of a bad decision. He now has more INTs than TDs on the year. D-
RB - Lamar Smith had a decent game with a huge play on 4th and 1 scoring a TD. But everybody knows Miami will run and it's starting to show. He had some bad runs without decent blocks. He's still the brightest spot in the offense. C+
WR - What recievers ? Gadsden couldn't get any separation, Martin had one or two good catches, OJ didn't catch a ball and as for Emanuel - he didn't even stay upright. D-
OL - The run blocking wasn't very good but the pass blocking was pretty good. Fiedler was rushed and sacked but nothing fancy. The pass blocking wasn't the problem this time. C
DL - There was no pass rush, nothing. Taylor got an accidental sack. Other than that nothing. The only good thing was the short yards rushing defense, Gardener and Bowens made some plays. D+
LB - James ran wild at times, the coverage over the middle was so andd so. The Dolphins can't stop the run and the LBs have to share the blame. D
Secondary - Surtain was active, Madison gave the Colts their TD with a stupid penalty. Walker blew the coverage on the long TD, Manning was 21 of 28 albeit most of his passes were short. C
Special teams - They were OK. Turk is erratic and way past his prime. Ogden should have returned some of those punts, if he is only going to catch you might as well let OJ catch. B
Coaching - They couldn't have asked for anything more. The Jets losing and the Raiders practincly giving the Dolphins the second seed and the bye week. The play calling, well, Can somebody explain to me what's the point in running the ball with 4-5 minutes to go when you need 2 possesions,
they were already in FG range, you might as well throw some short passes and try to get the first down or try a shot at the endzone from 20 yards and save time. Miami wasted about 2 minutes in between runs and they could have gotten another possesion at the end. D-
