QB Pennington was decent, he completed a lot of passes but most of them were real short ones going as far as completing a 2 yard pass on third and 3 twice. Take away the 80 yard TD on a screen pass and the wildcat wild 53 yard TD and you are left with 151 yards on 23 attempts. He finished 19 of 25 for 284 yards and 2 TD with one INT. B
RB Ronnie and Ricky did not have a great game. Both of them scored but t they could not sustain Dolphin drives. Ronnie rushed 13 times for 50 yards and a TD, Ricky 11 for 46 and a TD. The RBs should get a C+ but Cobbs made two huge plays, getting an 80 yard TD on a screen and scoring on a 53 yard pass of the wildcat formation (Ronnie handing to Ricky, he thre back to Chad that foud Cobbs all alone for the score). B+
WR Ginn had 1 catch for minus 1 yard - MINUS ONE, so much for streching the field. Camarillo "led" the receivers with 4 catches. The Dolphins WRs caught 6 passes all day (Bess got the 6th one). The TEs weren't very effective as Fasano again dropped a pass. Martin had 3 catches and Fasano finished with only one. D-
OL The run-blocking was below average and the pass blocking could have been better. Mario Williams got 2 sacks and a forced fumble but he is probably a top 3-4 DE in the league. C
LB What was Crowder thinking leaving the midddle of the field open with 7 seconds to go from the 3, it was the last play anyway so a run was a decent option, I was even yelling at the TV BEFORE Crowder left the area for the easy win-TD by QB Schaub. Maybe it was the defensive play call but the Fins did have a TO remaining. The Texans ran at will and completed a million passes down the middle. Porter is a great pass rusher but the Texans ran directly at him and had success. D-
DL When Schaub had time he completed his passes and when he didn't they were INTs and incompletions. Too bad most of the pressure came from Porter and he's a LB. The Texans ran way too much especially at the begining. D
Secondary Schaub had 379 yards, that's three hundred and seventy nine yards !! WR Johnson had 178!, They collapsed at the end. D-
Special teams Lets's see, when will Ted Ginn be getting his chance (when it was 3 seconds to go and they needed a miracle he was suddenly back in the kic return package - The Texans wisley kicked the other way). They allowed a 70 yard punt return TD and a 50+ kickoff return. Just an awful game, every Houston return became an adventure. F
Coaching Aside from the bizzare decision letting Bess return kicks and punts instead of Ginn, what the hell was that defensive call on the last play ? It was obvoious (7 seconds to go 4th and 2 on the 3 yard line) that a QB-run was an option (the only bad thing that could hapen is them running a 2.5 yard run and running out of time). I was yelling a t the TV - "Crowder don't leave the middle of the field behind the D-line and then he left... They should have won that game and the special teams are just awful. F
