QB Moore's stats look great - 19 of 32 for 288 yards, a TD with no INT for a QB rating of 99.5. He also had 4 completions of 34 yards or more. But the reality is he did not deliver. He lost a fumble inside Miami's 5 yard line that resulted in 7 Cowboy points (he had 2 more fumbles that the team did not lose). He missed some important throws like Bess on 3rd down that could have changed the game and he was helped by a few great catches by his WR (Hartline and Marshall). The Dolphins were inside the Cowboys 21 5 times and came away with ZERO TD and 4 FG and some of that problem was with Moore's passes. You can not win like that. C-
RB Reggie Bush and Daniel Thoms combined for 86 yards (61 for Bush) on 22 carries, that's close to 4 yards a carry which is OK. They could have done better on pass blocking or receiving (Bush had a 34 yard reception but other than that nothing big). All together a decent game for the RB. The lack of redzone scoring is on them as well. B-
WR Marshall had one awsome out of this world TD catch. He caught the 34 yard score while being mugged by the CB trying to prevent the TD by all means. He also had another 39 yard receptions in a great game for him finishing with 5 catches for 103 yards. (Moore is using Marshall deeper than Henne did ). Hartline also had a great game with 4 receptions for 77 yards. Some of them his now usual acrobatic sideline catches, he also had a 41 yarder. A very good game for the WRs, too bad they couldn't score more in the redzone. A-
OL The run pass blocking was OK, more or less but the pass blocking failed to give Moore consistent time to throw. Long had 3 offsides penalties and a hold and COlombo wasn't that great either. Moore was under pressure all game long. C-
LB Karlos Dansby and Kevin Burnet continued therir good play.Wake had sack and Kevin Burnet finished with 12 tackles, he is playing very well since turning the corner. As it turns out he IS a huge upgrade over Chaning Crowder, it just took time. B-
DL By all by all acoounts the line is playing well. Cowboys RB Murray did get loose a few times but considering his breakout year it was reasonable (he was a third rounder and is proving to be a star... the Dolphins traded from the 3rd round to the second to draft Thomas...). Starks had a decent game but the D-line failed to get to Romo. B-
Secondary They had 2 INTs by the end of the first quarter. The Cowboys biggest gain by a WR was 22 yards, so they played well. This loss is not on the secondary by any streach of the imgination. A-
Special teams One big return by Gated of 39 yards set the Dolphins up for a FG, Wilson and Pruit landed a punt inside the Cowboys 5 and Fields was his usual great. But the missed 47 yard FG hurt so much and at the end cost the Dolphins the game. They did score 4 FG but they were all inside the 30 very short FG, they missed the one they neede the most. C+
Coaching The Dolphins played well with the exceptions of the redzone scoring and Moore's fumbles but that was more execution than coaching. They looked prepared and the better team. They made some very nice big plays thanks in part to the play calls. Marshall is playing at a probowl level and I can't understand why some people are still saying he wasn't worth 2 second rounders (he's not worth Merling and Misi ?? or White ?, obviously he's worth more much more). Burnet is also playing lights out. The 3 game win streak ended and reality is going to set in soon, the Phins are out of the playoff run and have managed to accumulate 8 losses in 11 games, that's just tough. B-
