QB Chad Henne played well but a team can not expect to win while scoring 16 points on the road. They managed to beat themselves. First drive, penalty - 1st and 19 they end up punting after Bess catches a 12 yard pass on 3rd and 12 and he ran backwards... a missed FG, again awful in the red zone and at the end, 36 seconds to get a first down and kick a FG and 4 straight throws - 0 yards. So 19 of 29 for 255 yards a TD and an INT with a rating of plus 90 is not bad but it's in losing effort and not one that is losing because of the defense. B-
RB Bush had a god awful game. Daniel Thomas on the other hand looks like the future at RB. He just looks like a young Brandon Jacobs type player. Big, strong running through players. He managed 95 yards on 23 carries and he scored a receiving TD. He has 202 yards rushing in his first two games, not bad, not bad at all. B
WR The stat line will tell you Marshall did not do much. 4 receptions for 43 yards is just not good. But, he drew double coverage and made things easier for the other WRs. Hartline was good with 87 yards on 4 catches but Bess just had a bad game and Fasano had only 1 catch. C
OL 5 sacks on Henne and plaenty of pressure is just not good enough. Good for them that Daniel Thomas runs though people and really doesn't need big holes like Bush. D-
LB Again they could not cover TEs or stop the run much. Zero sacks for Taylor, Wake and company is just not good. Make no mistake the Browns are not a very good team. D
DL Zero sacks. The Browns' backup RB ran 14 times for 67 yards (4.8 average). Thats just not very good. The personal foul on Olshansky was just awful. D-
Secondary They gave up two passing TDs and collpased at the end with that terriblr prevent defense. Wilson got burned and Will Allen and Nolan Carol did not look like starters material as well. Davis was missed more than expected. Let's not forget this was the Cleveland Browns for srying out loud. Next week is Philip Rivers and the Chargers - ouuch. D-
Special teams Carpenter still has a job, barely. He missed again but this time from 51. He never got the chance to win it at the end. D-
Coaching The play calling was bizzare at the end. Instead of going long (Gates ? really ?) they had the ball at the 47 of the Browns with 36 seconds and a timeout. The Browns were protecting against a first down. That was exactly the time to go for a 5-6 yard throw, get in the 60 yard Fg (which Carpenter can not convert, let's be honest) but increase the chance for a first down. They had plenty of time. The red zone "offense" was again unacceptable and inexcusable. You have no chance to win in this league playing like that inside the 20. Zero chance F
