QB Henne played a mediocre game taking many coverage sacks, but he did not make a mistake. The truth is the offense had an awful game. He finished 12 of 21 for only 112 yards and a TD. Total number of WR yards - 33. Ouch...C
RB Ronnie and Ricky had their worst day running of the year each finishing with 27 yards rushing. Ricky had another 41 receiving and they haven't scored which is a rare occasion (they have 13 total TD between them this year). How dependent is this offense on R&R ? Ricky had 68 total yards, the rest of the team had 36... R&R had 97 total yards between them, the team finished with 104 total yards... C
WR Hartline started instead of Ginn - the result - Neither had a single reception. Bess fumbled - again, this time on a punt, it cost the Dolphins a score. All 4 Dolphins WRs - 5 receptions for 33 yards - Ouch !! D
OL They gave up 6 sacks. Granted, some were coverage sacks but still SIX sacks and no where to run, absolutely nowhere to run. Even Long gave up a sacks, the 168 million dollar line did not pay off this week. Somehow they played better when Kris Jenkins was still playing for the Jets, that's just odd. D+
LB The Taylor return for a TD is obviously very good but there was now pressure from Porter and Taylor and the TE weakness was a glaring weakness again making Dustin Keller have a career game. C
DL The was no pressure but Starks played well. Soliali is playing much much better and we see the coaching staff is giving him more opportinities. Ferg, Merling and Langford were quite all day. The pressure must pick upo or else... Brady and Moss are up next - o-oh B-
Secondary They got burnt a few times by the Jets, they made Sanchez look like a real NFL QB, and the rookies did a few mistakes (Davis). Clemmons played more that usual. Sean Smith looks like the real deal even when he gets burnt... The mistake will hopefully go away and the good play will last for a while. Davis is the most physical CB in recent Dolphins memory. D+
Special teams The Bess fumble was just awful (on a fair catch !!) but Ginn was awsome, two (T-W-O) great returns for TDs showing his blazing speed, wow, if he manages to elude the first tackler he is very dangerous. It's time to give him a shot at punt return. A+
Coaching The two point attempt was awful, just awful, can't they add ??? 11 points is a FG+TD and 2 pont conversion, i.e. a FG and a TD. A 12 point lead is a two TD lead, period. I mean how difficult is that ??? Other than that the calls were very good. B-
