QB Trent Green played much better this week. The entire offense looked better. He finished with 23 of 36 for 318 yards a TD and an INT. Green moved the Dolphins very well. I do think the Dolphins can play faster in the 2 minute drill. The Dolphins scored 3 offensive TD and had 2 FGs without ever starting in Jets territory. B+
RB Welvome to the 2007 year Mr. Brown. Finally when Brown was given the opportunity to run the ball (he had all of the Dolphins' 23 attempts) he took advantage of better blocking and ran for 112 yards and 2 TDs to go along with one receiving TD on 6 catches for another 99 yards. His 211 yards from scrimmage was his career best. A great day for Ronnie. A
WR Chambers and Booker played well. Even Martin caught some tough passes. Ginn caught his first pass of his career, and turned a short pass to a 15 yard gain. He does have speed. Chambers had another 100 yard day as he finished with 101 yards on 6 carries, two yards more than Ronnie had. Booker had 60 yards on 5 tough catches. No deep passes. A-
OL The run-blocking was the best this year and the pass blocking wasn't that bad either. There were a lot of reasons for the loss but the O-line play was not one of them. B
LB The Jets scored 24 points. In the second half the Jets could not be stopped running the ball. They made Thomas Jones look like Eric Dickerson. The defense just did not play well. D+
DL The D-line is, by far, the most dissapointing unit on this team. It should have been the strength of the team and it turned out to be a weakness. Taylor and Roth are invisible with no pressure on the QB. Traylor can not stop the run. Holliday is the only decent player on the line. They should try something else, maybe Rod Wright. They are not generating any pass rush and they can't stop the run. D-
SecondaryThey did make Pennington look better than he is in crucial situations. He threw for 2 TDs but I don't think the secondary was the problem (Pennington had all day to throw also). C
Special teams Awful performance. That's on a unit with two good players in Feeley and Ginn. Ginn can play. He is fast and I think he should be more involved in the offense especially on plays featuring his speed. Feeley did not miss a kick this year and it's not easy kicking in NY. The coverage teams were awful, every Jets return became an adventure. They allowed a kick return for a TD that ultimately cost them the game. It was a tough division game on the road without the Jets special team TD. A holding penalty cost the Dolphins 36 yards, negating a 26 yard Ginn return and turning it to a 10 yard penalty. The kick before the Jets third TD to close the half showed how little confidence Cameroon has in his coverage teams. No matter how Ginn and Feeley played, there is only one grade for a team giving up a kick for a TD in this sort of game. F
Coaching A minute 38 seconds to go in the half and they squib kick it giving the Jets the ball at their 45 and just enough time to score a TD going into the half ? what the hell was that ? At least they gave Ronnie the ball. The defense looks lost. The special teams play was... F
