QB Fiedler played better than last week but he had two costly turnovers. His INT resulted in a TD for the Patriots and so was his fumble. He ran got the first down on 3rd and 6 but fumbled at the end. He finished with around a 50% completion for 251 yards and got his first TD of the season. The problem was Miami's inability to convert in the redzone and put away drives with TDs. 10 points is just not enough, even though they could have kicked a couple of FGs. C+
RB Brock Forsey ? The Dolphins are on their 6th RB. Henry danced a little more than required and Forsey ran very well on Miami's scoring drive. Forsey ran hard and got yards after contact, he played better than Henry and Morris. C-
WR Welcome to Miami, Marty Booker. Booker had 7 catches for 123 yards. McMichael had his now usual 5 catch 60+ yard game. Chambers caught his 2nd TD of the season on a great acrobatic catch but he didn't get open on long passes. A better day for the WRs, some of it becasue of New England's prevent defense. They had trouble in the redzone andultinately cost Miami the game. B
OL The penalties are inexcusable, I had enough of writing about the O-line. They just aren't very good. McIntosh has probably more penalties and sacks given than good blocks. Jeno James doesn't reminf anyone of past Dolphin pro bowler Sims. Hey, at least Carey recovered a Fiedler fumble. D-
LB Corey Dillon ran for 94 yards, 36 of them in one run. Dillon is a pro bowler. They did an OK job. The Pats offense was totaly stopped. B+
DL They still miss Tim Bowens. Romero got a sack after Taylor pushed Brady to his side. Taylor played well although he didn't get to Brady. B+
Secondary This secondary is just a great secondary. Brady threw for 76 yards. seventy six !, a two time Superbowl MVP. Sure they ran the ball to run out the clock, but still, aside from a 28 yard completion they controled Brady altough he did throw 2 short TDs. i'll take a sub 100 yard game from Brady any time B+
Special teams Mare was injured and newly signed return man Wes Welker kicked the ball and was 1 of 1 in FG and connected on the extra point. He also returned the ball very well. Turk made an awful mistake in running on 4th down on a slightly wide snap. It resulted in a Pats TD. These kind of mistakes are unacceptable and made the difference yesterday between the winless Dolphins and the Pats, winner of their last 19 games. Welker gets an A-, Turk an F (his punts weren't that good also) , We'll give the average. C+
Coaching It won't change until the Dolphins win. The team had a lot of turnovers, they resulted in the 3 Pats' TDs. The other thing is the penalties. A third and 22 deep in Pats' territory became first down. The penalties were not a physical thing but a mental thing. It has nothing to do with Ricky or Boston. They had all off season to work on it. It was just sloppy. D-
