QB Feeley didn't play well at all. In fact he played worse than Fiedler and if it was the other way around he probably would have been benched. He threw 2 INT, one was returned for a TD and he should have had at least 5, even his only TD pass was a dropped INT that fell into Chambers' hand. He showed poor judgement and didn't throw the ball more than 15 yards in the air (as eveindent by Gordon's 8 catches that usually do not result in first downs) . To his defense the O-line play was much, much worse. Right now, Feeley threw 2 TDs to opposing teams and the entire Dolphins defense allowed only 1 TD...D-
RB At this time the Dolphins don't have a running game. Gordon gained 25 yards on 22 carries as Miami failed to achieve a rushing TD for the first time since 1969. Enough said. It wasn't entirely Gordon's fault as he was tackled by 3 or 4 Bengals the moment he got the handoff, the line play was that bad, really. D
WR Chambers played OK but again there were no deep passes, mainly because the O-line didn't allow the play to develop even once all day. His TD was just a defensive mistake which should have been another INT thrown by Feeley. McMichael had a great game with 8 catches for 93 yards. He is by far the best offensive player after two games. Thompson and Booker caught only one pass each. The Dolphins did throw to Booker more but the passes were just awful, it's not like Booker dropped anything (he didn't), it's just a waste. The Dolphins have to figure out ways to get him the ball. OL By far, the worst performance I have seen in years, The Bengals were dancing in Miami's backfield even before he handoff. They just missed assigments and did not know who they are supposed to be blocking which resulted in free/untouched Bengals getting to Feeley or Gordon. Wade Smith allowed two sacks and a million pressures alone. On one play Smith left two (t-w-o-!) Benglas free believing god will block them and they were both untouched on their way to Feeley. Even when they did recognize who to block they didn't do a good job. They started the game with a penalty which was fittingly called "everyone but the center". It was just an awful performance. They couldn't have blocked any NCAA team in the top 50, that bad. Their grade is highly overrated. Feeley had time only on one play the entire game, the play resulted in a long completion to McMichael. F!!!
LB As most of the defense the LBs played OK. They stopped the Bengald attacks and did not allow a TD. Zach was again everywhere and Seau played very well also. B+
DL They played very well considering two of the starting DT were out. Chester is lost for the year and Bowens won't be back before week 4 maybe 5. They did allow Rudi Johnson to gain 14 yard runs a couple of times, but considering everything they played well. B+
Secondary The last drive, especially the Chad Johnson reception was horrible. Aside from the last drive they played very well considering the number 1 and 3 corners were out. Johnson didn't do anything up to that point. Madison had a great game and so did the rookie Will Poole. Antuan Edwards is a very good player also. The Dolphins are set in the secondary. A-
Special teams Both Mare and Turk played well, Mare in particular. Turk had to make 10 punts only one shy of the Dolphins record. Brightful fumbled 4 times but did give the Dolphins great field position that set up the tieing FG with a 36 yard return, I expect he will be cut because of the turnovers. The coverage teams played well. D
Coaching Who the hell put the backup safety one on one with Bengals probowl WR Chad Johnson 30 seconds to go in the game ? and if it was a miscomunication thing and he was supposed to be guarded by 5th stringer Jimmy Wyrick even worse. As for the "it takes time" for the O-line, what did they do all pre-season ? The O-line is the only unit that doesn't have a new player. They played horrible. This was just a painful game to watch. Thy just did not look prepared at all. F
